John joined Vom Boden a decade ago, when things were just getting started, today he’s a partner. Before he joined Stephen Bitterolf at Vom Boden as the company's first hire and National Sales Manager, the two held competing positions in the landscape of New York wine retail. John at Chambers as the German and Austrian buyer and Stephen at Crush with a wider scope, but penchant for the cooler climates. These two have since remained on the razors edge of what's happening in Germany and Austria; and today connect some of these regions’ most soulful growers to the American public. A connection that has had a profound effect on how German wine is perceived and consumed, not only at Easy but throughout the US.
John brings a distinct and deep knowledge of wine, particularly wein, and conveys it without pretention, often with musical references. Join us as we pour some great wines, at ridiculous prices, and maybe convince John to stay a little later than he intended.
